Regie: Jon Favreau (Iron Man).

Edit: 3min tot, links tot

Teenage Angst coming to cinemas in Germany

January 21, 2009

teenage-angstLast year I had the opportunity to interview up and coming young german actor Franz Dinda (The Cloud, A Year Ago In Winter) during the international student film festival Sehsuechte in Potsdam. He took home a couple of awards for the film “Teenage Angst”, which at a length of 64 minutes is stuck between the genres. Not really a short but too short for the cinemas. Finally in 2009 somebody decided this coming of age drama about adolescence in an upper-class boarding school was in fact good enough to be screened. The interview is in german and starts after about 15 minutes of the report I made on the Sehsuechte-Festival 2008, which is in itself quite fun, if I may say so.

Suzuki Tsunami A hommage to the works of Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Power Puff Girls) by a malysian artist.

The Dovepeople A futuristic vision for an ages old myth.

First Impact Looks like Cloverfield but was made in 2004.

The Rocker Exclusive

July 23, 2008

Check out this funny spoof portrait of Fish Fishman (Rainn Wilson), who is the star of FOX’s latest comedy The Rocker, about a man who used to be the drummer in a successfull hair band of the late eighties called Vesuvius. After they kicked him out for a major deal his life went downhill, all the way to his sister’s attic. Until his nephew asks him to play in his highschool prom band. That assignment jumpstarts a tour de force of Rock’n’Roll mayhem. From what I’ve seen The Rocker looks like a 21st century Spinal Tap or at least a nice take on movies like Almost Famous. And it features my secret crush Emma Stone (Superbad) and Kelly Bundy, err Christina Applegate. Rock’n’Roll will never dead, as zee tschermans say.

I might explode

June 9, 2008

This movie sounds pretty darn interesting. A guy works for a hugely profitable company called Jeffers. The company logo (as seen in the picture) looks like a middle finger to me and everyone else, I guess. His two surnames are George and Washington. So we got Jeffers(-on) and George Washington. I bet someone’s called Franklin Benjamin or Adam Quincy. Back to the plot: People around George Washington start to explode. And he might be next.

Visioneers is directed by Jared Drake and stars Zach Galifianakis, Judy Greer, Missi Pyle and the great James LeGros.

Visioneers looks to be a great indie comedy. Quote from the bedroom clip I linked above: “Betty Beaver’s hungry for a log.” Everybody at Jeffers Corp. flick their finger to each other in a kind of company salute. I have nothing bad to say about a movie which features people smiling at each other whilst flicking eachother off. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

This is the trailer.
