The Hobnox Evolution2 Hot Picks

September 19, 2008

Hello my dear friends,

my website Hobnox.com has a contest up and running worth $100.000 for projects in music, film and culture.

It’s called the Evolution2, since it’s the second time we’re doing this. This is what the party for the finals of Evolution1 looked like.

I have compiled some great entries to the film category for your convenience. Just surf by and vote for them if you want to support them.

Flying Around The World One crazy guy doing one crazy high-flying Kung-Fu kick all over the world.

Suzuki Tsunami A hommage to the works of Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Power Puff Girls) by a malysian artist.

The Dovepeople A futuristic vision for an ages old myth.

First Impact Looks like Cloverfield but was made in 2004.

Enjoy

I might explode

June 9, 2008

This movie sounds pretty darn interesting. A guy works for a hugely profitable company called Jeffers. The company logo (as seen in the picture) looks like a middle finger to me and everyone else, I guess. His two surnames are George and Washington. So we got Jeffers(-on) and George Washington. I bet someone’s called Franklin Benjamin or Adam Quincy. Back to the plot: People around George Washington start to explode. And he might be next.

Visioneers is directed by Jared Drake and stars Zach Galifianakis, Judy Greer, Missi Pyle and the great James LeGros.

Visioneers looks to be a great indie comedy. Quote from the bedroom clip I linked above: “Betty Beaver’s hungry for a log.” Everybody at Jeffers Corp. flick their finger to each other in a kind of company salute. I have nothing bad to say about a movie which features people smiling at each other whilst flicking eachother off. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

This is the trailer.
